MFT World Card Making Day - Challenge

I sure hope you all enjoyed WORLD CARD MAKING DAY! I know I did and I will probably be cleaning up from it for the next week. I only wish I had time to take on more of the super fun challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. I am not sure why, I was determined to take on a real challenge for me. Whenever pink is included in the description it's a challenge for me. It is one of those colors I just can't stand. After deciding on this challenge and having a lack of MFT stamps I downloaded their free digital set that Kim so generously offer for WCMD. The set is called "Think Pink". Having never worked with digital anything before this only added to my anxiety.... LOL This card took me forever! The challenge was to have pink, black white and some BLING.

You can check out all the entries for this challenge HERE

Multi Purpose Challenge Card

Hello! Tonight's share is two-fold well maybe actually three-fold. The third being I got to use one of my favorite sets. Unity has a challenge posted this week to pick a card from a Design Team member and case it. I chose to case Maren. For my card I used S.E.I "Black Orchid" paper and since this card has a nice fat bow on it I'm entering it into Allison's Suggestive Sundaychallenge.

To create I did not have any matching dew drops for the card so I cut tiny circles from matching stock and placed it underneath a clear dew drop. After allowing it to dry I mounted both on to a button that I colored to match using Copic marker.

Thanks for stopping by. One more day to go this week, can you say HAPPY!

Lime Tart Challenge

Melissa Phillips has a sketch challenge going on at her blog and I squeezed in a quick card to get in on a chance to win :). She said it "let your shabby come tumbling out, or your funky self". Well, this has got to fit as FUNKY! I tried chic and funky but as you can see not totally my style a it was a bit of a challenge and came out funky and not a good funky! :).

Melissa is queen of chic in my book and her creations just can not be duplicated!

I used some BoBunny paper and chipboards to create. The background papers are Lasting Impressions. Wording is rub on from LI.

Have a good evening I am going to clean up my room now that I trashed it trying to come up with something for the challenge.

Simple Bird Card

I created this simple bird card for a chance to win some yummy blog candy that seedings mum is offering. You can't really go wrong with these colors and it was a super quickie to make. I paper pieced the birds using matching paper adding pop dots to the two outer ones to add a bit of depth.

Supplies
Lasting Impression paper
Inkadinkado (birds)
Amuse (wording)
Giga Scallop Oval punch
B&W Ribbon (unknown)

Wait until you see my manly get well gift that I plan on posting Saturday. Totting my own horn I think it came out pretty niffty! It was created for a friend who's hubby is having surgery knowing she stalks my blog I'm not posting it until it arrives!

Have a great evening.

No Color Challenge

I created this card for Allison's weekly challenge. Although, I made it into a guy birthday card it would make an excellent Father's Day card too. The antique auto stamp is great left uncolored especially with the colorful K&Company paper behind it. I believe the paper was a freebie in a Take Ten issue some time back. I stamped the auto using black ink, mounted it to turquoise then brown stock, applied some pop dots and completed the card using a matching strip of brown that I inserted turquoise eyelets into for added bling. Very quick guy card to make. The auto stamp is from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Taylor's Cupcake Challenge

I created this card this morning for Taylor's challenge. I just got this stamps last week from CHF and was excited to see what I could do with them. I chose to go with deep reds and browns because those are the only heart brads I had to top the cupcakes with! HUSH! The heart paper is some old stock that I think originally is from CTMH, wish I had more of it but I used up the last of it on this card. I paper pieced the two end cupcakes with it to match background as you can see. Pretty simple sweet Sunday card.

I just hope there is lots of chocolate at the Confirmation Party today, card made me hungry.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by.

It's Clearly Spring - Hero Arts Challenge

Happy Friday everyone! I want to send a big welcome out to all my Yahoo Stamping friends that recently subscribed to my blog . Thank you for your continued support, you guys are the BEST!.

As many already know, Hero Arts just recently set up a blog and I created this vase for their first challenge. It was somewhat a challenge in itself trying to setup a flicker account to parttake in the challenge GRRRRR. I have no idea what promoted me to take on this challenge or to do a 3D item instead of a card. To create I cut a piece of acetate to 6 x 9. Stamped design on the front with opaque StazOn ink then added flowers and buttons to the front. Added upper and bottom trim using Fiskar diampnd edger. I then formed it around a vase allowed Krazy glue to set and I waited and I waited LOL. To create the grass to go inside I took scraps (Yepee used some up) and put them through a cripper then shoved them through my paper shredder. To do the mirror image of the flower so that the backside would look as good as the front I used a HA shadow stamp. First stamping flower on it then on to the paper. I attached the flowers to the tips of some artificial stems I had around the house.

Stamps Used
All stamps Hero Arts
Other Supplies
Flowers were a gift Bride's Magazine Michael's
Buttons - Memories and Lasting Impressions

Fiskar Diamond Edger
Clear Acetate
Lasting Impressions paper
Opaque StazOn ink

Sock It To Me Blog Winners

Since only 3 brave stampers took on the challenge and all of their cards and socks were out of site. I decided to take the lame way out and make them all winners! Congratulations go to Kathy, Heidi and Donna Lane.

This of course meant I had to toss together another pair of sock and card. Donna, one of the winners is all about embossing so I created this card for her. This card was created using Lasting Impressions L9256 template and papers. Adding polka dots to the blue flower was somewhat of a challenge. I first tried stamping purple and it was not bright enough. Then a lightbulb went off in my head and have this trick to share with all. The blue flower with purple polka dots was created by punching holes randomly with my mini paper punch and layering it on top of lilac paper. I am quite please on how this came out.

Be sure to check out all the winners blogs you will see why it wasn't easy too pick just one!

Supplies

Lasting Impressions template L9256
Lasting Impressions card stock
Linen white and deep blue card stock
Tiny paper punch
Computer generated Text
Cuttlebug - Polka Dot Folder
Blue, Purple and Sage Inks

Sock It To Me Challenge Card Submission

Here is an entry from a non blogger. They were created by a very talented Donna Lane. Donna is a master at dry embossing and has inspired me and many other embossers with her creations. Are those not the cutest socks you have seen? It is easy to see how she was able to create such a neat card with those socks as her inspiration!
She did send a note with her submission saying the socks are very purple and match the ribbon on the card, just did not photo as such. This is easy for me to believe because I had to photo my blue socks over a dozen times until I got my blue ones almost to match.

Final reminder - The challenge ends tomorrow evening and winners annouced on Wednesday.

No Time To Stamp Challenge

I created this card for Sharon's challenge which was to use paper piercing on a card. I have had this paper piercing template for some time and thought I would pull it out and challenge myself today. While making it I had intended to emboss the wording in seafoam white but accidently picked up the holographic instead and if you think I was about to redo the paper piercing you're DEAD wrong, it adds a little sparkle:)! The stamp I used is one of my favorites and is by Great Impressions, an oldie but perfect for spring cards. "Easter Blessing "is a stamp given to me by a dear friend but believed to have come from I Brake For Stamps. Paper is from Lasting Impressions I used both the melon bold striped and checkered then mounted it on white linen stock so that the piercing would pop more. I colored the flowers in with watercolor pencils.

I had lots of fun taking on this challenge and plan to keep my template out for awhile.

Paper Quilters Spring Card Challenge

I decided to take on Ethel's challenge and create a spring card. The most diffcult part of this challenge for me was deciding which of my flower stamps I wanted to use. With all the snow we had last weekend I am so ready for SPRING! I just started stamping various flowers in different color inks until I came up with this color combo which is different colors then I am use to using. The bottom panel of the card I created by running the matching ink pad on an angle acrossed the sheet of paper then reversing and running in the oppsite direction. I think it made for a nice effect. Basically to create I just stamped flowers and layered on lighter matching violet and rose cardstock. I hope it's a winner because I have no Magnolia Stamps and the Tilda stamp being offered is so cute!
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my touch of spring I bring you today:)

Stamps used
Hero Arts Real Field Wildflower
Penny Black Lace Flower Trio
Dandilion Judith
Letters- clear unknown
Wishes - Endless Creations
Other Supplies
Oval punches
K&Company chipboard Letter
Linen white paper
Sewing Machine-pink thread
ColorBox warm violet, rouge and yellow chalk ink
Making Memories - sage green
Ribbon - rose & lilac

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Since I have not made any St. Patrick's Day cards I thought I would jazz up my Kitty card for Allison's challenge this week. I made the background paper by inking and scuffing up some glossy card stock. The Cat stamp, one of my favorites, is from Stampin Up. Wording is from My Sentiments Exactly and I masked out people and inserted "cat's" from the Stampin Up cat set. The pipe and hat along with the clovers are resin and came in a single package that I bought on a closeout for .50 cents! They are by Darcie. The fish paper clip is from Oriental Trading Company.

Sock It To Me Blog Challenge

My first BLOG CHALLENGE opened to ALL bloggers!

What's a "Sock It to me" Challenge you ask? Simple, you buy a pair of funky socks and use them as your inspiration to create a matching card then choose another blogger and sock it to them! I created two pairs to offer up and send out to two lucky bloggers.

Here are the rules, I know everyone hates them but we have to keep order:)
1. Make a card matching your funky socks and link it to this post.
2. You can send it to another blogger gifting it as blog candy or any other method you wish. I will leave this up to you but you must pass them on.
3. I will hold the challenge open until March 18th
4. Two random winners will be selected to receive the cards and matching socks displayed with this post.
5. It is all about FUN, I hope you will take on the challenge.

Now for the basics on the cards.
The shoe one was created using navy, aqua, and turquoise card stock. I colored it in using Copic markers (B05, B29). For the leaves I used Prismacolor Marker (dark green). The flowers were white Prima flowers that I colored with Copic markers to match. The shoe stamp is from Make an Impression. Shoe stamp is my Sentiments Exactly. For the upper I used my circle Cuttlebug folder.
Socks came from Marc's Discount Store.

The second card flower I used a flower from the retro See D's set and stamped it on to turquoise card stock using black ink. The wording is from Dollar Store that I picked up in my travels and stamped it using teal Memories ink pad. The tiny buttons are from Making Memories. The upper is a Cuttlebug flower folder. Socks came from Target.

You won't believe how easy it is to gain inspiration from a pair of socks. The shoe one I created I would NEVER have thought to pair those colors together but it is great combo on paper.

Geometric Card Challenge and Tagged

I created this card for Allison's Challenge. This was truly a challenge for me and by far not at all my best. I decided to attempt a circle card (my first) I used Lasting Impression papers and cut circles out by hand, can you tell ? I used a 3/4" punch to punch out circles on bottom then inserted Prima flowers and added crystals I had lying around. The saying is from SU as is the larger flower. In the center of the flower is a stamp by Hero Arts. Although I don't like this card it may give others ideas. You can adapt this card to be a purse by removing the scalloped circle and adding a ribbon for handle.

Now for the Tag

Bold Thinking of You - Contest Card

Envis is celebrating 5,000 visits to her blog since she started it on the 6th January and has a challenge for a chance to win some real sweet candy. To take part in the fun, make a card in black and white and ONE other accent colour.

This card is not exactly what I had envisioned but I like the boldness of it and I got to make some more of my Pizzazz buttons! The flowers are SU (Delight in Life) and I stamped them in white and embossed them using seafoam white embossing powder. I hope it's a random winner.

Stampin' When I can Challenge

This weeks theme on Allison's blog is Trees. I'm in a bit of a stamping slump so a challenge is just what I needed. I have had this tree stamp for awhile and thought it was perfect for this challenge. Last time I used my sewing machine I left it on and of course when I went to sew around edges the bulb was not only burned out but shattered and was all over the cabinet so I decided to wing it and sewed the edges without thread! It then looked a little too plain so I highlighted with white marker. I used my new Copic markers to color it in.
I hope I linked this right, it's a first for me. I think it will make for a nice Spring Birthday card.

Kathy's Something Old Challenge

I made this card for Kathy's challenge to use something old, and this card fits the bill.  The rose stamp is one I picked up at a garage sale some years ago.  It is actually one of my favorite rose stamps but has no manufacturer on it.  I paired it up with a Hero Arts word stamp that I thought was so fitting of the card.  Now for real old, the rivets used to attach wording to the card front are a gift I received when I first started stamping some years ago as are the corner brads used on the rose image.  The background was created using CHF linen inked in Colorbox sky blue and dune inks.  I did have to cheat and use my new Copic Markers to color the rose.  Still a newbie with these markers so forgive any imperfections!
