This one is too good not to share with everyone. My husband who normally is not a good shopper brought this to my attention. A couple weeks ago I sent him to pickup some laundry detergent and he returned with the 32 oz bottle (pictured below). He paid $2.89. Last week while I was shopping I decided to pick up an extra bottle because I had a coupon for $1.00 off that he forgot to use, that was due to expire. I paid $2.99 before the coupon for mine (pictured below). I brought my bottle home and put it on the dryer next to his bottle. Well, let me say I will never live it down! My same ounce bottle contains 12 loads less and I paid more for mine. Now, not being a mathematician can someone tell me how this is possible before I email the company to ask them to explain. Both are identical in 2x concentration, ounces etc but one will wash 12 less loads.
Sort of looks like comsumer beware to me what do you think?

That is hysterical!
I found your blog from a link on a friend's blog, but thought I would comment on this ... That's crazy! I do price comparison on ounces - like 50 Fl Oz but not sure if I would have caught how many loads. I actually use LESS than the recommended, especially for towels ... meaning I never fill the cap to the fullest. You'll have to update when you hear back from the company. :)
Isn't that interesting? It will be fun to hear what the company has to say about that!
That is funny, but the comment above got me thinking, too. Is the inside of the cap marked any differently, as in they might have done some research and realized you didn't need to use quite as much as they previously thought?! It is odd. My first thought was it was just a typo or someone's mistake who made the label.
Yes, let us know what you find out. That really does make you go . . . hmmm?! *rolleyes*
You guys really had me thinking, because I had not checked the inside of the lids. I did now and they are marked and sized identically so that is not it.
Crazy

I hope you post the response from the company.
I think you should ask them and I bet they send you a coupon for your trouble.
Hi! I don't know if you'll go back and read this as I am "late", but as you can see on the smaller # of loads bottle, it contains "color safe bleach". (such as Clorox 2) This would account for extra "space" in the bottle that is not detergent. In the end, it is the same as if you bought detergent AND a color safe bleach since that would cost additional $$$ anyway. So, it's a different product! Hope this helps and makes sense!!! (S in NM)
