I'm back but....
Struggling with my stamping. I have lost my stamping mojo or it may be I have just replaced it with the NEW frenzy to reclaim my house and declutter it. In the past couple of weeks I have taken on installing new outdoor security lights. I knew my years of being in the electronics business would come in handy:). I have braved a weakened roof to clean the gutters out. I have had a new hot water tank and furnace installed just in time for snow fall. It looks like tomorrow I will be taking on my most dreaded chores of raking leaves because a landscaper that has promised over and over to do them is a no show. The thing I am finding most irating since the death of my hubby is promises by people to show up to help and they don't show. I just don't get why people would bother to offer if they are not going to show up. I finally have cleaned out a space big enough to pull my car in the garage, something I have not been able to do for years. I have new garage doors coming on Tuesday. I originally had hoped to wait until spring to get them but opener is shot and since my doors are wood and newer ones are steel, opener is different and price was right so I should be locked in for the winter. I also in addition to working full time, have managed to do all the yucky probate paperwork in the last two weeks and switch over titles and stuff. I just wanted to share with all my loyal blogger friends what I have been up to.
Now the card! I can not for the life of me sit down and create anything. I am struggling perhaps because of guilt about all the other things that need to be done first. This cute turkey is a real old Penny Black stamp and saying is from Judith. The background papers are actually paint chip type samples that I swiped from a counter top dealer at a local Home and Garden show. I wish I could get more, super neat texture and crinkle pattern to them. The turkey was colored with Copic marker, After stitching around edges, background was mounted to a piece of country blue card stock.
Any one have any ideas to get my mojo back? What does everyone do when they get in a horrible slump? Quick before I sell all my stamps!
Enjoy your evening and thanks for hanging in there, only wish I had more to share with you all, I could take pictures of my pretty new lights!

Hey Nettie...sounds like you are making headway on the HUGE job of organizing your life...sounds like you are doing an amazing job too. I am sending you a big cyber hug since I can't give you a real one. How to get your mojo back after what you've been through???...that's a tough one...how I do that is browse all my stamps...and look for a good challenge sketch that speaks to me. A couple of good sketches seem to help me out a lot. I have a hard time with card design, so if I don't have to think so hard, and just plug in a stamp and some paper, it is so much easier. Hang in there...you have lot's of friends out here in space :) thinking of you!
Well, looking at this card, your mojo is there, you just not FEELING as strong right now as you were, but your card still show it! Seriously, this is adorable! your coloring looks fantastic on this!
I agree with the above poster, when I feel like I'm loosing interest, I'll go blog hopping and find a sketch challenge or color challenge...something like that, even case a card if I have to, lol! It hit me about a month ago since DH resigned from a job of 22 years and started a knew one...have soo many worries right now (not to mention we havent received even the first check from new job, lol) ...nothing compared to what you are going through though, and it sounds like you are really accomplishing alot, maybe not in the CARD making department, but something this is making YOU FEEL GOOD! That is what is important! AND I'd love to see pics of your new light!
whew, wrote a letter there, SS!! LOL
Dear Nettie,
I think that losing your mojo has alot to do with your spirit. I know that it does for me. As soon as you have more things in your life squared around you will feel more creative, it's a matter of time. Give yourself a break, you've been and are going through alot of emotional stuff right now and time will help heal some of it. Your awesome mojo will be back and will probably put you in a flurry of creativity all at once!!
Hugs and Love
Julie
Hi Nettie,
I like your turkey card.
I do not know why people say they will show up and then don't. I know things come up in life but still, that isn't considerate. I wish I lived closer so I could help.
I view the galleries at splitcoaststampers when I need a little inspiration, or look at terrific crafty blogs like yours on the internet.
Congrats on finishing your lights!!

I have just spent a long time through your blog...and was very moved by your story...you've had to deal with tough things but you know what.. I just know you are gonna be OK....you have true spirit and I send you big bloggy hugs all the way from Scotland
Love
